Excision of a skin lesion smaller than 1 cm is a surgical procedure used for complete removal of various skin formations. It is frequently performed for moles (nevi), cysts, keratoses, fibromas, or other skin lesions that require treatment or further evaluation.

The procedure consists of surgical excision of the lesion, performed through a precise skin incision, followed by wound closure to allow optimal healing. The intervention is performed under local anesthesia, so the patient does not experience pain during the procedure.

In certain situations, the excised lesion may be sent for histopathological examination, to confirm the diagnosis and exclude any possible pathological changes.
