Dermatology consultation with digital dermoscopy for up to 10 lesionsdermatology consultation with digital dermoscopy for up to 10 lesions, performed by senior dermatologist, is an investigation used for detailed evaluation of moles (nevi) and other pigmented or non-pigmented skin lesions.
Dermoscopy is a modern, non-invasive method that uses a special device called dermoscope to examine skin structures that cannot be observed with the naked eye. Through digital image capture, lesion images can be recorded and analyzed, facilitating monitoring over time of any changes.
During the consultation, up to 10 skin lesions are evaluated, and the dermatologist analyzes their characteristics to differentiate benign lesions from those requiring monitoring or further investigation.
Dermoscopy is frequently used to evaluate:
- moles (pigmented nevi)
- suspicious pigmented lesions
- seborrheic keratoses
- other skin formations
The investigation is quick, painless and non-invasive, being an important method for early diagnosis of skin cancer, including melanoma. Depending on the evaluation results, the physician may recommend periodic monitoring, dermatologic treatment or lesion removal.
Digital dermoscopy is a useful investigation for both patients presenting with multiple moles and those observing changes in shape, color or size of a skin lesion.
