About this specialty

Botulinum toxin is one of the most widely used treatments in medical aesthetics for reducing expression lines and preventing their formation. The procedure consists of injecting very small amounts of botulinum toxin into certain muscle groups of the face, causing temporary relaxation of the muscles responsible for the appearance of wrinkles. In this way, the skin becomes smoother, and facial expression remains natural and rested.

The treatment is rapid, minimally invasive and does not require recovery time, and patients can resume their usual activities immediately after the procedure. The most frequently treated areas are forehead lines, lines between the eyebrows (glabella) and lines around the eyes ("crow's feet").

Effects generally become visible after 3–7 days, and complete results appear in approximately 10–14 days, lasting on average 3–6 months, depending on the individual characteristics of each patient.

Beyond its aesthetic role, botulinum toxin may also have medical indications, being used in the treatment of conditions such as excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), bruxism, or migraines.

The procedure is performed by a physician, following a careful evaluation of facial anatomy and patient needs, to obtain harmonious, safe, and natural results.
