Dermatologic surgery

Dermatosurgery is a branch of dermatology dedicated to the surgical treatment of skin lesions, both benign and malignant. It includes a wide range of minimally invasive procedures used for diagnosing and removing skin formations such as moles (nevi), sebaceous cysts, lipomas, keratoses, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma.

In many cases, the excised tissue is sent for histopathological examination, to establish a definitive diagnosis.
